New Science of the Human Body

Do your clients have chronic tension or pain? Do you have pain? A recent survey of personal trainers and group exercise instructors found that over 88% experience chronic pain. In fact, 80% of all orthopedic injuries are sports or exercise induced. Does injury and pain have to be the negative side effect of active living and aging? New research has revealed the root cause of pain and inefficiency in both active and sedentary people and it is not muscle imbalance, strength, or flexibility it cannot be resolved with current exercise protocols. Neurofascial science must be added to current fitness practices to reverse this trend.

Course description:
Becoming a MELT Instructor begins with a simple two-day training This training reveals the missing link to long-term wellness and longevity the neurofascial system . By directly effecting the system of the body that provides constant, autonomic protection, responsiveness, support, and balance to all body functions and allows you to offer your client  long-term, pro-active solutions to staying active and healthy over their lifetime. MELT Living Body Model Training Day One: Participants will be introduced to the primary elements of the Living Body Model and how to access the neurofascial net with the MELT Hand and Foot Treatments. These techniques are useful tools for personal trainers, group exercise instructors, and therapists to teach clients during sessions as tools for their personal self-treatment that will help them help you achieve improved performance and movement awareness. This first training allows participants to use the MELT Hand and Foot Treatment in one-on-one environments with their clients. Day Two: If you are a group exercise instructor or are looking to create another outlet for your skills as an educator of hands-off bodywork, day two will teach you how to teach the MELT Hand and Foot Treatment as an on-going class as well as a one-day workshop event. Day two is a comprehensive session into teaching Hands-off Treatments in a group environment. Far more than teaching a fitness class, this technique and the language vital to its simplicity and understanding is a vital element in mastering the art of MELTing. This becomes the practice phase so participants can teach the MELT Hand and Foot Treatment class once they audition and complete requirements of teaching in group settings. Participants will:
  • Gain a scientific understanding of new research of the human body regarding pelvic stability and mobility, the role of the diaphragm, tensional relationships and connective tissue, and how the Neurofascial System operates to maintain postural integrity.
  • Explore the 5 components of the MELT Living-Body Model as a foundation for assessing whole-body imbalance and misalignment to aid in program design of any modality and better provide injury prevention, maximum movement potential, and posture improvement.
  • Apply cutting edge science to the current musculoskeletal models to improve your ability to work with a broader variety of clientele.
  • Learn the MELT Hand and Foot Treatment and how to use these neurofascial techniques to improve overall body connection, alignment, and flexibility for one-on-one clients.
